Out of Print... A Thing of the Past?
(A fictional account of a very real possibility...)
Sam has written four books over his career. Three of them are out of print. Any future sales of those books will most likely be used copies, and Sam will not realize any revenue from those sales. Not being independently wealthy, Sam cannot simply decide to authorize new print runs of several thousand more books.
The fourth book, while not technically out of print, has some significant areas in need of updating. There are still over 1,000 of those books available to the public, but Sam wants to be sure that his books are relevent to his audience today. Again, Sam cannot simply decide to scrap the current version and authorize a new print run of a revised edition. While Sam is a fictional character, the above scenarios are very real. This was the way it used to be.
With Snowfall Press, Sam can now bring his out of print books back in print, where they can remain permanently available. This is possible because the books are printed only as they are sold, no minimum print runs, no storage requirements. Also, because he has minimal up front expenses, he can edit his current book into a new edition, and make that available in the same way. Sam's audience always has access to his books, and they can be assured that they are receiving the lastest edition available on the market, and Sam continues to realize revenue on the sale of his works.
Imagine the possibilities in your world!
